Sittingbourne Firm Invests in a Monster Shear – most powerful in the UK!

One of the UK’s leading providers of waste management & recycling services LKM Recycling in Sittingbourne, Kent has invested in a new shear from Lefort in Belgium to replace the smaller, aging original Lefort machine. For those new to recycling plant, a shear is a machine for cutting up & baling metals for sale to metal foundries for recycling into new items.

The old machine will be refitted so that it can be resold once again demonstrating that the recycling/ reuse instinct is used in every part of the recycling process! The new machine, the Lefort Amazone 1250 is a beast & is many times larger & more impressive being able to exert 1250 tonnes of pressure onto metals with the capability of being able to bale a bus whole. This delivers a much greater throughput of 500T of material per day, meaning a more efficient machine that cuts metals into high quality pieces ready for customers furnaces.
